Asparagus is one of two Jellicles to share that name. The first is this younger
tom, the other is usually called just Gus. In most productions, the same person will play both parts, with the exception
of the video, where there are two actors for the two Asparagus. He's an older tom, probably around the age of Jennyanydots or Bustopher Jones, but not nearly the age of Gus. Asparagus doesn't have a lot of speaking parts, but he does dance with the
other toms. He hangs around with Alonzo, and the male kittens, helping to keep them in line.
