Old Deuteronomy begins to sing The Moments of Happiness, which is about their experiences of happiness. However,
they are somewhat still searching for the meaning of it, but Coricopat and Tantomile understand him, and transfer it to Jemima
who sings a little bit of Memory.
Gus: The Theatre Cat comes next. His full name is Asparagus and he used to be an actor. Unfortunately, he has
grown old and weak, so he doesn't exactly act much anymore, but he loves to talk about how he lived when he was younger.
Then Skimbleshanks: The Railway Cat comes. He's like an uncle to all the cats. He works in the Sleeping Car
Express and makes sure everything is in working order. Because of his hard work, nothing ever goes wrong. As they sing, the
other cats help him construct a train.
Another crash from Macavity is heard, and he finally presents himself, and catnaps Old Deuteronomy in the process. The
cats scatter except Demeter and Bombalurina who have known Macavity previously. Together they sing about his crimes in Macavity:
The Mystery Cat.
Macavity comes back disguised as Old Deuteronomy. Demeter senses him, and reveals him. Then Macavity starts to fight
with Munkustrap and Alonzo. Macavity eventually surrenders when he became out-numbered. He makes an explosion and vanishes.
From the explosion the lights went dark and to add to their problems, the had to find Old Deuteronomy!
The Rum Tum Tugger gets the magical Mr. Mistofolees, a black and white cat, to help them. He helps find Old
Deuteronomy, get the lights back on, and shows off a little of his talents.
With Old Deuteronomy back, it was time for him to choose who will go to the Heaviside Layer. Grizabella appears once
again. The cats treat her the same as always. She sings Memory and at long last, the other Jellicle Cats accept her.
Old Deuteronomy chooses her to take The Journey to the Heaviside Layer. She goes up into the magical tire and is
lead up into the Heaviside Layer.
Then Old Deuteronomy sings The Ad-Dressing of Cats, bringing the annual celebration to an end
until next year.
