The next morning, Pixie awoke between Pouncival and Jemima. She heard Mistofolees
and Victoria talking.
"I'm glad we found our sister. Aren't you Vic?"
"Mmm...hmm."
"Whats wrong?"
"I don't know. I guess I'm just bored," Victoria replied.
"Why? We have a lot of catching up to do with our sister," Mistofolees replied
confused.
"That's just it. I have nothing to look forward to now! I mean, I don't have
anything to hope for. I can't wake-up every day and wonder if today, I'll find my sister," Victoria replied.
"Well, you and Mungo have a lot of to talk about," Mistofolees said, trying
to cheer her up.
"Oh yeah! He and Teaze come back from vacation back today!" Victoria replied
excited that her mate would be returning soon. Pixie decided to finally let them know she was up. She rolled over and mewed.
She got up, stretched, shook her head, and yawned, which made her ear twitch. She turned around and acted surprised to find
Mistofolees and Victoria already up.
"Hey you two!"
"Hey, Pixie! Did you get a good nights rest?" Mistofolees asked.
"Yes. You?" she replied.
"Yep!"
"What about you, Vic?"
"Hmmm? Oh. Yeah. Same here."
"What are you two planning to do today?"
"Ummm......Vic is planning to catch up with Mungojerrie, her mate, who you
havent met yet. I was going to take you to my owners house and see if she would adopt you. That is if you want to," Mistofolees
replied.
"Sounds good to me!"
"Well, let's start heading over there then," Mistofolees replied. So, they
left Victoria just sitting there in a trance.
When they reached the house, Mistofolees led the way to the cat door and walked
through with Pixie right behind him. His owner, Misty, was sitting at the kitchen table eating her breakfast. He mewed and
Misty turned to find her kitten with another one.
"Why, hello there! Who did you bring home?" Mistofolees mewed.
"Go rub against her leg," he whispered to Pixie.
"Well, I see you don't have a collar, and I've been wanting another cat, so
what do you say?" Pixie rubbed her head against Misty's let and purred. "I'll take that as a yes. I'll go get you registered
and get you some pet supplies. What should I name you?" Pixie looked at Mistofolees a little worried.
"What did she name you?"
"Augustus," he replied.
"I think I'll name you..Alexus, to kind of go with Augustus' name. I'll see
you two later. Now go and play," Misty said opening the door for her two kittens. Mistofolees and Pixie went outside and played.
A couple of hours later, Misty returned with the pet supplies. Mistofolees
and Pixie saw her.
"Race ya to her!" Pixie said.
"You're on!"
"1....2.....3!" They took off. "Beat cha!"
"Yeah, yeah, yeah. I let you win!" Mistofolees said.
"Mmm...hmm."
"Hey you two! Come on inside. I've got something for you guys," Misty said
letting them into the house. She set the shopping bags on the counter and laid out everything. "What do you think of this
collar, Alexus?" Pixie mewed at the spiked collar. "I thought youd like it." She put the id tag on the collar, bent down,
and hooked the collar around Pixie's neck. I also got you and Augustus a couple of new toys.
"You have no idea how good it feels to have a collar around my neck again,
Misto," Pixie said.
"I bet. You want to go to the junkyard now?"
"Sure. We've got some catching up to do."
"Yeah. Plus you need to meet everyone."
"Well, lets go," Pixie said running out the cat door and
towards the junkyard. Mistofolees ran after her.
