Note: BlueBell wrote the story of Siflay, but I changed it around a bit to go with mine. To read the original go to my FanFiction section.
"So, have you guys heard from our other brother?" The smiles of the other kittens
disappeared.
"We have," Mistofolees replied.
"So, where is he? Is he ever coming back?" Pixie noticed Jemimas eyes starting
to water and a tear running down Victorias cheek.
"The thing is, Pixie, he's never coming back," Mistofolees answered with tears
in his eyes. Pixie looked at all of them confused. "He's dead, Pixie."
"Oh, I'm sorry. I didn't..."
"We know."
"How did it happen?"
"Well, it all started at the last jellicle ball," Mistofolees started, "Macavity
had cat-napped Old Deuteronomy. He had just got done fighting Munkustrap when he disappeared. Well, since I'm a magician,
I started putting on a show. For my big finale, I traded Cassandra for Old Deuteronomy. Of course, I bought Cassandra back."
"But Macavity wasn't to happy about it," Jemima interrupted, "So, a couple
of months later he paid us all a visit. We were all asleep when we awoke at the sound of a tin can falling. We all immediately
knew who it was and went to scatter to our hiding places, when Macavity's hench-cats surrounded all of us. Macavity appeared
from behind the old car. 'What do you want, Macavity?' Munkustrap asked him. 'I want that jellicle leader of yours!' Macavity
replied. 'Well you can't have him!' Alonzo replied. 'Speaking of Old D, I want to know who took him from me last time I had
him.' Of course, we were all silent, but Macavity knew who it was. He started making his way towards Misto, but Munku stepped
in front of him and told Macavity to stay away from Misto. Macavity claimed he wasn't going to hurt Misto. But he did give
Misto credit for the trick. And told us that's why he got himself a magician. Of course, that's not a good combination."
"Yep. That's when Siflay, our brother, came in. He had a white face and white
paws. His right eye was green and his right eye was violet. He was about the same size as Misto," Victoria interrupted, "Misto
recognized him, but it took Siflay a while, but when he did recognize Misto, Macavity intervened, 'You know this fur ball?'
'Yeah, hes my brother!' Siflay replied to Macavity. That's when Macavity took Siflay a side and promised Siflay his freedom
if he would kill Misto. Macavity stepped aside and Siflay started gathering his power. He turned around, but Munku didn't
move. Siflay threw an electrical charge at Munku and sent him flying. Misto begged him to stop, but he wouldn't. Siflay threw
electrical charges at Misto, but Misto dodged them all. Misto wouldn't fight, so Siflay grabbed me. We didn't know we were
related then, but Misto and I were really good friends, and I guess somehow Siflay knew that. I remember those cold words
that were said, 'If you won't make this interesting then I will.' But Misto demanded him to let me go and he started to fight
Siflay. They both dodged all blows. Misto then jumped in the air and disappeared. Siflay was confused. Misto's voice came
from the car, but when Siflay threw an electrical charge, the car exploded but no Misto. Then Misto's voice came from the
drainpipe, but when Siflay struck, no Misto. Then Misto's voice came from behind Siflay, but no one could see him. Siflay
turned around back around and Misto punched him in the jaw, causing Siflay to fall to the ground. Siflay was filled with anger,
so Misto ran up on a pile of junk, but Siflay gathered all the power he could and transferred it to his hands. Then he let
Misto have it. That explosion made all of us cower. Misto fell with the junk. We all looked for Misto and we were heartbroken
to see him lying motionless. Siflay walked over to Misto. Misto rolled over and looked at Siflay, who stared right back. Misto
started to bleed on his forehead. Macavity walked over to the magicians and seeing that Misto was still alive, he told Siflay
to kill him. Siflay hesitated, but he raised his arms, waiting for the power to go to his hands. We could see Misto close
his eyes, and could tell he was waiting for the end."
"Siflay just stood there staring at me. He dropped his arms and told Macavity
he couldn't do it. Macavity reminded Siflay of his freedom, but he still wouldn't do it. Macavity told him he was a traitor
and that he would die with me. He picked up a small, sharp piece of metal and raised it in the air ready to attack. Siflay
zapped Macavity, throwing him in the air, which made him land hard on the ground. He then turned to me and helped me up. We
hugged each other. Then when I looked over Siflay's shoulder, Macavity was running toward us with the same piece of metal
in his hand. I tried to move him, but it was too late. Macavity had pierced Siflay in the back. He fell into my arms which
made us fall, I yelled some things at Macavity, and put Siflay beside me. I got up and gathered all the power I could and
let it out. It wasn't lightning. It was much more powerful. The red ray landed near Macavity's feet sending him into the air
and once more, he landed harshly on the ground. The cats that were holding everyone else back ran in fear. Macavity left with
them. I then went back over to Siflay and took him in my arms, and told him he would be okay and that we would get a vet.
He said he was sorry and that he didn't want to be like Macavity. He said, When I'm gone please don't think of me as him.
I told him I would never do that. And I told him that he wasn't going anywhere," Mistofolees said sniffling with tears flowing
down his cheeks. Jemima and Victoria were crying and couldn't even say a word to comfort the other. "Siflay told me, he thought
he would never see me again, and how he was sorry we had to meet like that. I started crying and whispered, Please dont die
on me, my voice quivering. The hand that was once tight around mine, loosened and fell. His head fell back. His body, lifeless.
I wasn't the only one crying. Everyone else was too. Then I quoted the cats prayer, that is said when a loved one dies; 'Flight
of angels, send thee to thy rest above the jellicle moon and have him watch over me night and day, until we meet again. Until
then goodnight.' Until then brother, until then." Pixies eyes were filled with tears that started to run down her cheeks.
"Oh, Misto. I'm so sorry. I don't know what to say."
"It's okay, Pixie," Jemima said, "It's probably good that we're talking about
it, instead of keeping the pain balled up inside. Besides, you needed to know. He was your brother too you know."
"Yeah, I know." Mistofolees walked over to Pixie.
"You okay, Pixie?"
"Yeah. I'll be okay. I just wish I could have seen him one last
time." Mistofolees embraced his sister. He could feel her warm tears falling off of her cheeks onto his arms. He felt a gentle
paw on his back. Jemima and Victoria had embraced the other two and each other. Mistofolees vowed he would never loose another
family member to Macavity. They were all asleep in a few hours. Pouncival walked in, but when he saw the tear stained faces,
he knew Mistofolees had probably just told Pixie the story of Siflay. He looked at the sleeping ball of fur. He walked over
to Pixie and licked her face. She awoke long enough to give Pouncival a lick on the face and tell him he was welcome to sleep
in the huddle if he wanted to. Pouncival watched as his love's eyes closed and she rolled back over. Pouncival laid down beside
his mate and put his arm around her waist. Just thinking about Siflay made him promise himself that he would protect Pixie
and her family with all he could. Even if meant sacrificing his life for hers. He looked at his love. Her beautiful coat,
her feminine figure, and how cute she was asleep. It made him want to hold her even tighter, but he didn't in fear he would
wake her. Instead, he licked her face and took one last look, before falling asleep.
